I listened to bluegrass music as a kid when my brother-in-law, who is much older, listened as we traveled to various places. As a teenager I migrated to rock n' roll music, but have always enjoyed acoustic guitar and what I like to call "pure" sound. One day in 1995 or thereabouts, I took my mother to an appointment and stayed in the car to listen to the radio. I just happened to tune across to the Tim White bluegrass show on WGOC radio in Gray, TN. On that day, at that time, he just happened to be interviewing a fellow from a brand new band called Blue Highway. Tim Stafford talked about the band and their music. They played several songs. I was hooked from that moment on. The bluegrass fever had infected another soul! To this day, Blue Highway holds a special place in my heart because they are mostly local guys, a great band, and so very instrumental in reintroducing me to the music I love. Thanks guys!!!

All it took was to hear The Bluegrass Alliance on the radio playing "Fox on the Run". I wasn't old enuf to get in to the bar, The Mason Jar, on Bardstown Road in Louisville, at the time, so there was that element of "unattainablility".
