got hooked by Flatt and Scruggs playing Salty dog, which I had just learned from my teacher (A GI on leave). bought the carnegie hall LP, and then the original Stanley bros. gave a concert in copenhagen
in 1966. that turned me on. then a trip to university in Lund Sweden standing in a great circle of a bluegrass jam-session (had to find a guitar-picker across from me to seee when the chord changes were) since the no looking back. love it because of the simplicity and complexity and the nice folks you meet in the blugrass brotherhood all over the world

There wasn't a great deal of music in the house as I grew up but the old folks loved Jim Reeves and Slim Whitman and despite being more interested in the rock there were some great songs there.

After years of listening to all manner of music some of the memories of those recordings got me digging around... then Bill Monroe came into my ears.

I still listen to all sorts of things but bluegrass is what I always come back to now and I can't see that ever changing.

So, Bill Monroe got me hooked and the beauty of Bluegrass and friendliness of those that listen to it keep me hooked.
